Young Citizens for Sustainable Development Conference, March 14-15, 2008, Abuja - Nigerian Professionals (NIPRO) and Development Partnership International (DPI) are organising a two day National Youth Conference on March 14-15, 2008, with the theme: Vision 2020: Setting the agenda. The conference is being held to discuss the President’s seven point agenda as well as other National development frameworks that will lead to the eventual achievement of Nigeria’s vision 2020. In preparation for the conference, a one day consultation with Nigerian youth in the diaspora will be held in London on February 26, 2008. New Date for 3rd Nigeria Youth Leadership Summit Announced - The new date for the third Nigerian Youth Leadership Summit is July 4-5, 2008. Young Leaders Against HIV/AIDS Initiative - Young Leaders against HIV/AIDS Initiative - DPI will in March begin a series of youth leadership training workshops. The training is part of a youth leadership programme that allows young people in school and out of school to be part of a leadership development and learning programme that will provide them the opportunity to build their leadership skills through training, community development service and internship/ mentorship. Ongoing Events and Discussions:

The Development Partnership Discussion group - DPIan emerging alliance of young professionals and leaders from all over Africa which seeks to further, in practical terms the United Nations 2015 Initiative and the vision of NEPAD and PRSP’s through well coordinated youth actions at the community level. It is geared towards harnessing the potentials of young leaders in Africa to develop broad based integrated strategies to address the continents development challenges. It will both serve as an advocacy platform and a medium for community based youth actions.
